ChatDip Community Guidelines

Rules and standards designed to help keep ChatDip and Dips safe, respectful, authentic, and engaging for everyone.

Last Updated: September 17, 2026

1. Introduction

ChatDip and its short-video feature, Dips, exist to help people create, discover, and share content in a safe, respectful, and engaging environment.

These Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed. ChatDip may reject, remove, or restrict content that breaks them.

Where these Guidelines apply. They cover everything on ChatDip, including Dips videos, captions, sounds, comments, direct messages, livestreams, profiles, usernames, duets, stitches, remixes, and links you share.

Who can use ChatDip. You must be at least 13 years old, or older where local law requires. Accounts belonging to users under 18 receive additional protections described in Section 2.

Related policies. These Guidelines work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If they conflict, the Terms of Service apply.

Important Violations may result in content removal, reduced visibility, account restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination.

2. Safety and Wellbeing

2.1 Harassment and Bullying

Treat others with respect. Do not:

  • Harass, bully, insult, or degrade others.
  • Threaten violence or intimidate users.
  • Organize or join targeted harassment, brigading, or pile-ons.
  • Make unwanted sexual comments, advances, or solicitations.
  • Mock victims of tragedies, violent events, or serious illness.
  • Repeatedly contact someone who has blocked you or asked you to stop.

Public figures may be criticized and discussed, but threats and severe abuse against them are not allowed.

2.2 Suicide and Self-Harm

We want ChatDip to be a place where people struggling can find support. Do not post content that:

  • Promotes, encourages, or glorifies suicide or self-harm.
  • Provides instructions or methods for suicide or self-harm.
  • Encourages others to join challenges or pacts involving self-harm.

We allow recovery stories, awareness content, and supportive discussion that does not include graphic detail. Content in this area may be shown with support resources or limited in recommendations.

Immediate Danger If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

2.3 Violence and Dangerous Activities

Do not post content that:

  • Encourages, incites, or threatens violence.

  • Shows or encourages dangerous challenges, stunts, or pranks likely to cause injury.
  • Provides instructions for making weapons or explosives.

We do not allow terrorist organizations, violent extremist groups, or organized hate groups on ChatDip.

  • Recruiting for, fundraising for, or promoting such groups.
  • Sharing their propaganda, symbols, or manifestos in support.
  • Glorifying or sharing footage of terrorist or mass-violence attacks.
Context Matters News reporting, research, and educational content that condemns or documents extremism may be allowed with context.

2.5 Child Safety

We have zero tolerance for content or behavior that exploits or endangers minors.

  • Child sexual abuse material, including AI-generated or drawn depictions.
  • Grooming, or attempts to move minors to private conversations for harmful purposes.
  • Sexualization of minors, including suggestive comments on content featuring minors.
  • Sextortion or soliciting images from minors.
  • Content showing minors in physically dangerous situations or subjected to abuse.

Zero Tolerance

We remove this content immediately, permanently terminate the accounts involved, and report it to the appropriate authorities and any relevant national child protection body.

2.6 Teen Safety

Parents and guardians sharing content about children should avoid revealing personal details such as school, location, or daily routine.

3. Respect and Dignity

3.1 Hate Speech and Discrimination

Content that attacks, dehumanizes, or promotes hatred against people based on protected characteristics is prohibited.

Protected characteristics include race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, disability, serious illness, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, and immigration status.

  • Footage of deaths or serious accidents shared for shock.

4.3 Harmful Misinformation

Do not share false or misleading content that could cause significant real-world harm, including about:

  • Public safety, emergencies, and natural disasters.
  • Health, including dangerous “cures” or claims that discourage proven medical treatment.
  • Elections and civic processes, such as false voting dates or locations.
  • Criminal events or accusations against identifiable people.

Content may be removed, labeled with context, or excluded from recommendations.

4.4 AI-Generated and Manipulated Media

AI tools can support creativity, but they must not be used to deceive. You must:

  • Label realistic AI-generated or significantly edited content that shows people, places, or events that did not happen.
  • Use ChatDip’s AI label where available.

Do not post:

  • Deepfakes that make real people appear to say or do things they did not.
  • Synthetic media designed to mislead people about news, elections, or emergencies.
  • AI-generated content that impersonates a real person for scams or endorsements.

We may add labels to content we identify as AI-generated.

4.5 Spam and Platform Manipulation

Do not:

  • Buy, sell, or create fake views, likes, comments, or followers.
  • Use bots or automation to post or interact.
  • Post repetitive, misleading, or unwanted content.
  • Use deceptive tactics, such as clickbait or misleading links.
  • Run engagement schemes like “follow for follow” at scale.

4.6 Authenticity and Account Integrity

Do not:

  • Impersonate people, brands, or organizations.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliations.
  • Create deceptive accounts or networks intended to mislead.
  • Create new accounts to evade a suspension or ban.
  • Buy, sell, or trade accounts.

Parody, fan, and commentary accounts must be clearly labeled in the username or bio.

4.7 Commercial and Branded Content

If you receive payment, free products, or other benefits to promote something, you must disclose it using ChatDip’s paid-partnership label, if available.

Do not:

  • Promote pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick schemes, or misleading investments.
  • Run fake giveaways or contests.
  • Make false or unproven claims about products.

5. Privacy and Intellectual Property

5.1 Privacy and Personal Information

Do not share another person’s private information without their consent, including:

  • Phone numbers, home addresses, or email addresses.
  • Government ID, financial, or medical information.
  • Private messages, photos, or documents.
  • Someone’s real-time location or travel plans.
  • Personal details about minors, such as their school or address.

Do not film or photograph people in private spaces, such as bathrooms, changing rooms, or homes, without their consent. Do not publish someone’s personal information to encourage harassment (“doxxing”).

5.2 Intellectual Property

Only upload content you own or have permission to use. Do not upload:

  • Copyright-infringing material, including unauthorized movies, TV shows, or music.
  • Content that infringes trademarks, such as counterfeit branding.
  • Other people’s original videos reposted as your own.

Music and sounds from ChatDip’s licensed library may be used within the terms of that library.

Complaints Rights holders can submit copyright or trademark complaints through ChatDip@ChatDip.com . Users whose content is removed may submit a counter-notice.

Repeat infringers. Accounts that repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights will be terminated.

6. Context and Recommendations

6.1 Educational, Documentary, Newsworthy, and Artistic Content

Context matters. Content that would otherwise break these Guidelines may be allowed when its purpose is clearly educational, documentary, newsworthy, scientific, or artistic.

Examples include news coverage of conflict, health education, breastfeeding, and historical footage.

Such content may be shown behind a warning screen, age-restricted, or excluded from recommendations.

Important Exception This exception never applies to child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or terrorist propaganda.

6.2 Recommendation Eligibility on Dips

Being allowed on ChatDip is not the same as recommended. Dips recommend content to people who did not choose to follow its creator, so we hold recommended content to a higher standard.

Content may remain visible to followers but not be recommended if it:

  • Is suggestive, graphic, or intended for mature audiences.
  • Shows risky stunts or activities, even when performed by professionals.
  • Contains unverified claims about developing news events.
  • Is low-quality, reposted without changes, or misleading.
  • Promotes weight loss, cosmetic procedures, or other body-image-sensitive topics.
  • Comes from an account with recent violations.

Creators will be able to see when their content is not eligible for recommendation, where this feature is available.

7. Safety Tools, Reporting, and Enforcement

7.1 Reporting Violations

You can report videos, comments, messages, livestreams, sounds, and accounts from within the app.

Confidential Reports Reports are confidential; the person you report will not be told who reported them.

Reports are reviewed by automated systems and our moderation team. Reports involving child safety, threats of violence, or self-harm are prioritized.

Knowingly submitting false or bad-faith reports is a violation of these Guidelines.

Immediate Danger If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

7.2 Enforcement

We consider the severity of the violation, its context, and the account’s history.

Actions may include:

Dip Rejection

Rejecting a Dip before it goes live.

Content Removal

Removing content, including removing a live Dip.

Warning Screens

Warning screens or age restrictions.

Reduced Visibility

Reduced visibility or exclusion from recommendations.

Temporary Restrictions

Restrictions on posting, commenting, messaging, or livestreaming.

Account Suspension

Suspension or removal of a Dips profile or ChatDip account.

Permanent Termination

Permanent account termination.

Severe Violations

Severe violations, including child sexual exploitation, terrorism, and non-consensual intimate imagery, result in immediate permanent termination without warning. Where required by law, we report violations to authorities.

When we act, we will tell you which Guideline was violated, unless doing so would put someone at risk or break the law.

We may not share every internal detail of a decision. We aim to be fair and consistent. If something is harmful, illegal, or clearly against the spirit of Dips, we may still act.

7.3 Appeals

If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal most enforcement decisions within 7 days through in-app appeal or email us at support@chatdip.com.

Appeals are reviewed by a person who was not involved in the original decision.

If we find we made an error, we will restore your content or account.

7.5 Updates to These Guidelines

We update these Guidelines to address new risks, features, and legal requirements.

We will notify users of material changes before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page shows the latest version.

What Happens if a Dip is Rejected

You will see Rejected on Manage Dips, with a reason when we have one.

Typical next steps:

  • Edit & Resubmit: Fix the Dip so it follows these Guidelines and submit it again.
  • Appeal: If you believe the decision was wrong, you can appeal from Manage Dips. Appeals are available for 7 days.
  • Delete: Remove the Dip if you do not want to resubmit.
Visibility A rejected Dip is not shown on the public feed.

What Happens if a Dip is Removed

A removed Dip is no longer visible and usually cannot be edited.

You may still be able to appeal for a removal from Manage Dips within 7 days, where that option is shown.

Repeat or serious violations can lead to limits on posting, or account or Dips-profile action.

How Review Works

  • New Dips are reviewed before they go live.
  • Reviewing often takes a few hours. We notify you when there is a decision.
  • We may use automated checks and human review.
  • Live Dips can still be removed later if they are reported or found to break these rules.
Your Moderation Status Only you can see your own moderation status: In Review, Live, Rejected, or Removed.
